Omnibus acquires Figurehead Data Systems

Article Image

THE UK SUPPLIER of timetable, roadside display and service monitoring software for the passenger transport industry, Omnibus has confirmed the acquisition of transport solution provider Figurehead Data Systems.

The announcement confirms Omnibus as one of the largest British providers of specialist systems to the public transport industry.

Figurehead designs and produces printed maps and timetables, and launched the BusTimes timetable database software in 1982, which has since been installed by national bus companies and local authorities in the UK.

Senior partner at Figurehead Laurie Punnett says: “The software sector has been consolidating recently and there is obvious synergy between Omnibus and ourselves.”

Omnibus managing director Peter Crichton says the acquisition will assist in further expanding the services, products and support available to Omnibus clients.
