RH Transport closes....

Article Image

RH Transport of Witney has ceased trading. Stagecoach and the Oxford Bus Company are providing short-term cover for some of the company's Oxfordshire contracted bus services. RH also held 30 school contracts.

Around 70 people are understood to have lost their jobs.
Rodney Rose, Oxfordshire county council’s cabinet member for transport, says: “It is not very often that situations arise when bus companies encounter financial difficulties to the degree where they are required to stop operating. However when this does happen, the council would always want to work hard on alternative arrangements that can come in to play as soon as possible.”

… as does Countryliner Sussex

Countryliner Sussex ceased operations this week as it called in the administrators. The Surrey operations of the original Countryliner business are not affected. The Sussex company operated local bus services and school contracts, with its sudden closure forcing East Sussex council to find replacement vehicles at short notice. Countryliner Sussex was formed at the start of 2006 to take over the bus operations of RDH Services.
