New attractions at Longleat for 2012

Longleat has been at the forefront of wildlife attractions ever since it opened the world’s first Safari Park outside of Africa back in 1966. This year there are themed new displays enabling visitors to enjoy close encounters with exotic arrivals from across the globe.

A stunning new addition to Longleat Safari Park’s famous big cats is Cheetah Kingdom; home to the world’s fastest land animals, capable of speeds in excess of 60mph.

And following its successful launch last year the Hunters of the Sky aerial birds of prey show in Longleat Adventure Park is bigger and better this year with more birds, new displays and additional opportunities for visitors to handle the birds.

Among other new attractions set to open in June is the multi-million pound, lakeside gorilla enclosure which will provide a spacious, state-of-the-art camp for a troop of western lowland gorillas.

And the newly-themed Tropical Storm Café including the Gorilla Bar is now open.

There will also be a unique opportunity to come face-to-face with 6m-tall Rothschild’s giraffes on a spectacular eye-level feeding platform at the new African Village in the Safari Park.

Set within 900 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped grounds Longleat offers a unique mix of historic stately home, world famous Safari Park and award-winning family attractions.

Pre-booked groups of 12 or more people visiting Longleat House, Safari & Adventure Park and Cheddar Gorge will benefit from a price freeze on 2011 rates.

And there is a special offer of half price group day tickets when a group visit to Longleat with catering is booked, including two-course lunches /afternoon tea /soup and a sandwich. The offer is valid for visits before 30 June 2012.
