Wellglade to buy Felix bus services

Article Image

Following a strange 11-day “bus war” in October, Trent Barton parent company Wellglade has purchased the bus services operated by Felix of Stanley. Wellglade says that Felix first offered its bus operations for sale some months ago and managing director Jeff Counsell says he is delighted the two companies have managed to reach an agreement.

“For many years we have worked closely with Felix to ensure that communities between Ilkeston and Derby receive a first class bus service,” he says. “As part of the deal we have purchased the Ilkeston Flyer and Black Cat buses and they will continue to operate as a distinct unit.” Ten Felix employees will transfer to Wellglade.

The Felix bus operations will be taken over by Wellglade at the end of January. Felix will retain its coach business.
