Still no date for first EasyBus service

Article Image

EASYJET FOUNDER Stelios Haji-Ioannou has said he is set to launch EasyBus in the UK some time in the coming months. And while there's no firm date for the start of EasyBus, the business has unveiled its website.

This advertises a planned London to Birmingham service with fares starting from £1. The company intends to use minibuses with street loading points rather than what it describes as expensive coach stations. Ticket prices will vary according to demand.

EasyBus says that minibuses provide greater operational flexibility, but most industry observers question whether they can be operated economically at bargain fares.
