Exhibitors welcome at RDA Workshop

Article Image

The annual RDA Workshop coach tourism exhibition in Cologne, Germany takes places from 27 to 29 July in 2010 and new exhibitors wishing to get access to the show’s 11,000 trade-only visitors are welcome

The RDA Workshop is the largest international sales and purchasing exhibition for the coach and group travel sectors. Up to 1,300 exhibitors are expected.

A special theme for this year’s show is Cycling and Trekking, representing an initiative to develop new markets for coach tourism.

The theme is intended to motivate exhibitors to come up with innovative new offers and market-oriented concepts specifically tailored to the coach and group tourism sectors.

According to the RDA, cycling tourism has been booming for years and has developed into an important coach tourism growth segment.

Cycle holidays achieve gross sales of almost €3.87 billion in Germany alone, according to research conducted by the German Tourism Federation. Around 22 million overnight stays are generated by cycle tourists. And an increasing number of coach holiday operators are positioning themselves with offers that appeal to a broad target-group – from guests seeking simple relaxation to fully-fledged cycling enthusiasts.

Feedback from last year’s event shows that 42.5 per cent of exhibitors rated the frequency of visits to their stands as either ‘very good’ or ‘good’,  an increase of 7.2 per cent compared to the previous year. Similar tendencies were noted concerning business deals closed: 74.9 per cent of exhibitors were either ‘very content’ or ‘content’.

Requests for an RDA-Workshop 2010 Exhibitor Invitation can be obtained by contacting the RDA or via the website.
