New Panther ousts older Premiere at JAK

Article Image

JAK Travel of Riddlesden, West Yorkshire, has chosen the Volvo B9R with Plaxton Panther coachwork for the latest addition to its predominantly Plaxton Volvo fleet.

Managing director Alan Bonson looked at what the market had to offer before ordering: “We are happy to add another Plaxton Volvo to the fleet, it is a tried and tested product which we are familiar with.
“Plaxton have got the build quality right and we were impressed by how quiet it was internally when we took a test drive. Our first impressions are that it is a willing workhorse and we are looking forward to the fuel economy benefits promised.”

JAK Travel’s B9R Panther is 12.3m long and has 49 Fainsa Stel reclining seats and Thermo King air conditioning. It has a 380bhp D9B engine and I-Shift transmission. JAK Travel was founded in 1987 and now operates five coaches. All four full-size coaches are Plaxton-bodied Volvos, with the B9R replacing a B10M Premiere.
