Envro300 boost for Alexander Dennis
ALEXANDER Dennis has received its first major order for the lightweight 12m Enviro300, launched at Coach & Bus 2002. First Wyvern, which took four shortly before the collapse of TransBus, has ordered a further 35.
The Enviro300 is part of a larger order placed by First, which includes 90 Pointer Darts to be shared between seven operations – Bristol, Cymru, Devon & Cornwall, Essex, Glasgow, Somerset & Avon and Wyvern.
And while First has placed the bulk of its double-deck business with Volvo and Wrightbus, it has ordered 10 Tridents from Alexander Dennis, five of which, for Wyvern, will have ALX400 bodies.
Other double-deck orders in hand at Alexander Dennis include 55 ALX400s on Volvo chassis for Arriva London, and ten ALX400 Tridents for Translink in Northern Ireland.
