Record Mercedes order

Mercedes-Benz has secured its biggest Netherlands order, for 350 buses for Qbuzz. They will operate in the provinces of Drenthe and Groningen. It has also won an order for 75 CNG-fuelled Citaros from Connexxion, the Netherlands’ largest public transport company, for service in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region.

Qbuzz has ordered 12m Citaro LE and 12m and 18m Citaro NF models. All meet Euro 5 and EEV emissions limits. Qbuzz has also ordered Mercedes-Benz Integro intercity buses.The contract is being financed through Daimler Financial Services Netherlands, while EvoBus Service partner Wensink will repair and maintain the vehicles.

The CNG buses for Connexxion will be 69 standard 12m vehicles along with six 18m artics. Mercedes says it has built over 1,200 CNG Citaros.
