Scania OmniCitys for Brighton & Hove

Article Image

Brighton & Hove is among the Go-Ahead subsidiaries in the south of England taking delivery of Scania OmniCitys, with both single- and double-deck models now in service.

The 13 double-deckers are 73-seaters and have been allocated to the cross-city Metro 5 service.
The service runs every 10 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes on Sundays.

All of Brighton & Hove’s new Scanias carry names – this bus is named after the playwright Sir Terence Rattigan.

The new OmniCitys have replaced older step-entrance buses in the fleet. Brighton & Hove has been buying Scanias since 1988 and currently runs around 150.

These are its first complete Polish-built buses; previous deliveries have had East Lancs bodies.
