Start-up launches Birmingham service

Article Image

A new family-run bus operator, AM PM Travel, introduces a service between Birmingham and Solihull next week. The service will operate every 12 minutes from 7am to 7pm six days a week, with a fleet of 12 Plaxton-bodied Dennis Dart SLFs, sourced from a London operator and therefore LEZ-compliant.

The business, based in Acocks Green, has created 20 jobs.

Mel Kang, the company’s managing director, says: “We are delighted to be up and running and determined to provide the people of Birmingham and Solihull with a quality and reliable bus service which is underpinned by good value fares.

“We are a young and ambitious business who takes pride in what we do and believe our competitive fares, quality vehicles and friendly staff will help us to secure loyal customers. Thousands of people travel between Birmingham and Solihull every day and rely on public transport to make their journeys. We therefore hope that AM PM can play its part in improving those journeys by giving the best possible service.”

Adult fares are £1.20 and £1.50. A ten-trip weekly ticket costs £10.
