Rapid implementation for Ticketer

Rapid implementation for Ticketer Rapid implementation for Ticketer
Ipswich Buses has implemented a new ticketing system across its fleet of 75 vehicles in seven weeks from first order. The solution, provided by Ticketer, included a new ITSO commercial card, and card management scheme designed specifically for Ipswich, including access to Ticketer’s managed HOPS back office system. The scheme went live over the August bank holiday weekend.

“We took the decision to go ‘Smart’ to improve our passenger offering and ticketing flexibility, and to ensure we could recover our enhanced BSOG grant,” says Ipswich Buses managing director Malcolm Robson. “We carried out exhaustive research on the various ticketing options available, and finally chose Ticketer because they offered an exciting solution which came well recommended by their customers.

“They have not let us down - they have delivered all they promised, on time and on budget, whilst isolating us from the intricacies of deploying an ITSO solution. From day one we have successfully been reading National Concession cards, as well as our own new card scheme of trips and passes, and at a very much higher speed than we expected.”

John Clarfelt, managing director of Ticketer, adds: “Ipswich Buses set us a tough timescale for implementation, but the rollout has gone extremely smoothly and precisely to time - for which sincere thanks are due to Ipswich Buses staff, whose support has been invaluable, as has that of Unicard, our partner on the HOPS provision, and ITSO, who have been extremely helpful throughout.”
