Call for passenger consultation over West Coast acquisition

Call for passenger consultation over West Coast acquisition Gavin Booth.

Bus Users Scotland is calling on West Coast Motors to work closely with passengers following talks with First Scotland East to take over its services in the Scottish Borders. West Coast Motors took over Berwick Upon Tweed based Perryman’s Buses in 2016.

“It is imperative that bus passengers in the Scottish Borders are consulted over any changes that might result from this change of ownership,” says Gavin Booth, director, Bus Users Scotland.

Bus services provide links throughout the Borders and Bus Users Scotland is liaising with Perrymans and Scottish Borders Council in a bid to ensure that the views of passengers are taken into account at every stage.

“Perrymans is already a well-respected operator in the Borders and East Lothian and we are seeking assurances that this expansion in the Borders respects the views of the thousands of passengers in the area who rely on bus services for access to education, medical, shopping and leisure facilities,” adds Booth.
