Nigel Featham has been appointed as the new managing director at Go-North West, the group’s new bus business in Manchester. Feetham joins from Arriva where he led the North East, Yorkshire and Yorkshire Tiger bus operations over the past 10 years.
The new Go-Ahead operation in Manchester follows the recent £11.2million acquisition from First Bus of the 160-vehicle Queens Road bus depot serving Oldham and Bolton.
“We are delighted to welcome Nigel to the business with the regional expertise and customer focus that he brings,” says David Brown, chief executive of the Go-Ahead Group.
“Go-North West is a significant growth opportunity for Go-Ahead and I am confident that Nigel will bring invaluable and inspiring leadership to the team in Manchester.”
Featham adds: “The North West is going to be one of the most dynamic theatres of public transport evolution in the next few years, and to be in at the ground floor with Go-Ahead is the sort of opportunity that is too good to turn down.”
The Go-North West operation went live on 2 June.
