Ziehl-Abegg sees organic growth in 2018

Electric wheel hub developer Ziehl-Abegg reports that it increased sales by 8.1 per cent to €584million, compared to €540million in the previous year.

While overall sales growth is largely driven by its fan business, Ziehl-Abegg says the indications for sales of the electric in-wheel hub drive for city buses, ZAwheel are positive despite a slowing down in the pace of growth, according to CEO Peter Fenkl, and it is predicting further growth in this sector from this year.

“The independent suspension for the gearless ZAwheel electric motor which was unveiled at the IAA Commercial Vehicles in September, has also made the application very attractive for other commercial vehicles,” says Fenkl.

Ziehl-Abegg employs 4,100 people worldwide.
